Katie Altoft
Katie Altoft is an expert in carbon management and organizational sustainability, a subject that she teaches as a Professor of Environmental Management at the Centre for Environmental & Geomatics at Niagara College. For 15 years Katie has worked in a variety of roles in government, consulting and not-for profit leadership.
With the Canadian Standards Association, she led the Canadian Advisory Committee for the ISO Climate Change Standards, as well as the public consultation process for several of the greenhouse gas quantification protocols for Natural Resources Canada. Through CSA, she worked with Fleet Challenge Canada to identify carbon reduction strategies. As the Director of Education for Earth Rangers, she focused on making environmental issues clear and understandable for all ages, and on motivating people to take action.
Katie holds an MBA in Business and Sustainability from the Schulich School of Business, and a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo.
