GHG Protocol Launches Survey for Updates to Corporate Standards & Guidance

Overview

The Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol) has collected stakeholder input through surveys and proposal submissions between November 2022 and March 2023 to gather feedback on updating the existing standards and guidance related to The Corporate Accounting & Reporting Standard, the Scope 2 guidance, and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.

The survey was launched to align with best practices, and provide a credible accounting foundation for businesses to measure, plan, and track progress towards science-based and net-zero targets in line with the global 1.5°C warming scenario.  

The GHG Protocol received over 1,400 survey responses and 230 proposals, with summaries and public proposals available for review. While the secretariat is currently reviewing and analyzing the submissions, updates will be subject to a multi-stakeholder decision-making process.
